Privacy Policy

LearnPod (“we”, “us”) is an iPhone app that helps English learners study with podcasts. This policy explains what information the app handles and how.
Summary
- LearnPod does not require an account.
- Your listening progress, quiz answers, and cached content stay on your device.
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We do not use third-party advertising or analytics SDKs in the app.
Information stored on your device
To provide playback, transcripts, and review features, LearnPod stores data locally on your iPhone using on-device storage, including:
- Episode playback position and listen status
- Quiz questions and your answers
- Cached podcast metadata, artwork, and transcript text
- Your selected channels and shows
This data is not uploaded to our servers. If you delete the app, this on-device data is removed with it unless you restore from a device backup that includes app data.
Network activity
When you use LearnPod, the app connects to the internet to:
- Download podcast feeds and episode audio from podcast publishers
- Fetch official episode pages and transcripts from publisher websites
- Download show and episode artwork
Those requests go directly to the relevant publishers and hosting providers (for example, BBC Learning English and their podcast hosts). We do not receive a copy of your personal account credentials for those services because LearnPod does not ask you to sign in to them.
Information we do not collect
LearnPod does not collect:
- Name, email address, or phone number inside the app
- Precise location
- Contacts, photos, or microphone recordings
- Advertising identifiers for cross-app tracking
Background audio
LearnPod uses iOS background audio so podcast playback can continue when the app is in the background or your screen is locked. This uses standard iOS media playback APIs only.
Children’s privacy
LearnPod is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the app changes. We will revise the effective date at the top of this page when that happens.
